Matilda Murphy cursed inwardly.
She neither wanted to surrender without a fight, nor did she want to kill anyone.
She only wanted to buy time.
But it was clear that the patrol team wanted to shorten it.
"Wait," suddenly, Matilda Murphy said, showing a hint of compromise in her voice, "I have to tell you, I'm not alone."
"What?" The Captain immediately shouted, "What have you done to the Queen?"
"Exactly." Matilda nodded, "Our other people have already gone up to find the Queen. But I swear, we didn't intend to harm her but to rescue her."
"Rescue? Don't listen to him!" The Captain struggled fiercely, making Matilda wish she could knock him out.
"We truly came to rescue the Queen. You can stay here with me and wait, she should be coming down from the tower shortly. Once you see her, then you can decide whether I'm guilty or innocent." Matilda Murphy could only stall for time like this.
She wondered if everyone knew her identity.
