"What do you mean by 'when the time is ripe'?" Victoria couldn't contain her curiosity. "You aren't still thinking about making me play the role of some princess, are you?"
Franklin Clegg almost glared at Victoria: "What do you think?"
"Oh, come on, can you be a bit more realistic?" Victoria felt that amongst the three brothers, Franklin Clegg must be the most cunning, even surpassing Hank Clegg when it came to being calculating. Besides, both Hank Clegg and Shawn Clegg acknowledged his political acumen.
Why did his so-called "strategy" seem so unreliable?
"Stop fussing." Franklin Clegg reached out and ruffled Victoria's hair, almost tangling her smooth locks into a bird's nest, "Embrace your fate, little Victoria."
"I'm not little Victoria! I'm not your toy!" Victoria protested indignantly.
Franklin Clegg always made her feel like she was just a doll he could manipulate at will.
She could never quite understand what his attitude towards her really was.
