Daisy Wright stiffened upon hearing Shawn Clegg say this, as if her mind had glitched suddenly.
She blurted out to Shawn Clegg, "Then, can I be your girlfriend?"
Shawn Clegg was immediately taken aback and answered almost reflexively, "Of course not, why would you ask that?"
Daisy Wright was stunned as well.
The first shock came from the fact that she had asked such an abrupt question.
The second was that Shawn Clegg had replied so readily.
Both of them stood there, staring at each other.
After a while, Daisy Wright suddenly stood up, pushed her chair away, and turned to run outside.
"You…" Shawn Clegg immediately followed her out, "Daisy Wright…"
Daisy's footsteps faltered for a moment, but then she continued running upstairs without stopping.
Shawn Clegg hurried to press the elevator button, but the elevator had just gone down.
From outside came the voices of Michael and Michael, "Uncle Shawn! We're back!"
Shawn Clegg quickly put on a smile, "Did you have fun?"
