"So, you mean, if it weren't for your senior brother's situation, you would have already returned home and be working for the Ministry of Defence?" Victoria asked, her eyes wide.
"Yeah, and at least a major general by now," Hank Clegg added. "Because I couldn't follow the family's path smoothly, my father was naturally dissatisfied, and my mother worries all the time because working for Interpol is a risky job. They thought I had endured the hardship for a few years and it would finally pay off, but they never expected that I might be stuck in this position for a lifetime... Even my big brother is deeply frustrated over this."
"Huh? What has your big brother got to be frustrated about?" Victoria didn't understand.
Hank Clegg gave a bitter smile: "He thinks that if he and I had switched roles from the start, things might have gone smoothly. When I came home, he taunted me to my face, saying that I'm not qualified enough to take on the family's expectations."
