The teacher, upon hearing what everyone said, couldn't help but sigh lightly. Her gaze fell on Merlin Edvin, who was left isolated by the crowd.
Merlin Edvin had stopped crying by now.
She kept her head down, her shoulders trembling from time to time, her eyes appearing somewhat numb and hollow.
"You don't have to ostracize her like this." The teacher spoke, her brow furrowing deeply, "Because, Merlin Edvin will not be coming back to school next term."
"What?" Even Hannah Clegg was somewhat surprised upon hearing this news.
"Yes," the teacher sighed, "I knew this news for a long time. You all know that Merlin's family has gone bankrupt and they can no longer afford the tuition here. I was hoping that she could leave with good memories. But, perhaps, Merlin is somewhat self-conscious, and her interaction with everyone recently hasn't been pleasant."
All the students fell silent, no one spoke.
