"Is today a special day?" Victoria asked in surprise, "Why are we going to have my favorite food at my favorite hotel? Is there something to celebrate?"
"And your favorite bed and favorite position," Hank Clegg added.
"But why?" Victoria questioned, her eyes wide with confusion.
"I'm happy," Hank Clegg replied, somewhat coldly.
The car grew silent for a moment.
Then Victoria tentatively asked Hank Clegg, "Is it because… Charlotte has recovered her health?"
Hank Clegg held his silence, giving his non-answer, clearly a denial.
"Or is it because Harry is finally going to court?" Victoria asked again.
Hank Clegg continued his silence.
"Or is it because Logan and Charlotte may end up together?"
Hank Clegg turned his head this time, seemingly surprised. "They? They're together?"
Ugh, men can be so clueless about these things.
Even someone as observant as Hank Clegg can miss the point when it involves emotions.
