Charlotte Wilson seemed to want to chat more, but Abigail Cooper stood up.
In her hand, she held a gift box.
"Victoria, in celebration of your promotion and recovery, we wanted to give you a small gift." Abigail Cooper said warmly.
"Oh, I couldn't accept this." said Victoria, accepting the gift, "Besides, there has been no promotion."
"Working with Miss Murphy can be considered a promotion too," replied other secretaries, "perhaps in the future, we'll need Victoria's help too."
Although Victoria found everyone's sudden cordiality a little surprising, she thanked each one of them.
Matilda Murphy transferred her to a new position, and Hank Clegg didn't show any opposition.
Perhaps, at least by Matilda Murphy's side, she would be relatively safe?
Or the work might not be so tiring.
However, after having worked with Matilda Murphy for just two days, Victoria thought she had overly romanticized the idea!
