Just as Victoria finished her phone call, the door to the hospital ward swung open.
Hank Clegg walked in, carrying a thermos lunch box.
"Daddy..." Michael and Dodo called out in soft voices, their faces alight with wonder.
Victoria, however, turned her head away.
"Mummy..." Dodo took Victoria's hand and shook it gently, "Daddy has brought dinner for you."
Hank Clegg walked over, setting the thermos on the table.
"I've brought soup here, do you want some?" he asked the children.
Dodo and Michael shook their heads quickly: "Nope, we'll eat at home later. Daddy, you can feed Mummy."
After saying this, Dodo and Michael held hands, tactfully telling Victoria: "Mummy, we'll go out and play a bit, you have your soup first."
Victoria wanted to keep the children around, but Dodo and Michael had already darted off like the wind.
Hank Clegg didn't say a word and began to spoon out the soup.
The fragrant smell filled the hospital ward instantly.
