"I...don't need to trouble Matilda..." Victoria said, quickly raising her hand to hail a taxi.
However, although a taxi did stop in front of her, someone else got in first.
Matilda watched Victoria's actions with a cold face.
When Victoria hesitated to stop, Matilda slowly pulled her car in front of Victoria.
"Thank you..." Refusing a boss's invitation wasn't exactly a wise decision, although Matilda's invitation wasn't exactly gracious.
When Victoria got in the car, she noticed that Matilda was holding the steering wheel with one hand and a lady's cigarette with the other.
The smoke was mint-flavored, lightly dispersed in the air.
The glowing cigarette end, in the darkness, seemed like a budding flower bud.
"I'm sorry," Matilda extinguished her cigarette elegantly once she realized Victoria was staring, "Smoking isn't appropriate when there are ladies present."
Eh... Victoria felt as though she'd been implied as no lady by her words.
