Ugh, that comment, it just seems odd to hear...
"Have you ever thought about being with Hank Clegg Jr.?" The car started towards the Clegg family's home, as expected, Matilda really knows where Victoria lives.
"Well... not yet..." This was a question Victoria really didn't know how to answer.
Matilda seemed to laugh again: "If he were to pursue you, would you agree?"
"Why would you ask that, Miss Matilda?" Victoria realised she had to retort a bit. If she allowed Matilda to keep asking, she'd reveal everything.
"No reason. Just bored and asking," said Matilda, her eyes somewhat relaxed; completely different from her usual sharp and tough style. "You wouldn't go for a drink with me. I could only seize this opportunity where I'm sending you home, to chat with you. Honestly, Hank Clegg Jr. seems to care about you quite a bit. I know quite a lot about people. I can tell if a man really likes you with just one glance."
Her statement made it sound as if she wasn't human.
