"I'm sorry, I was just about to send an email." Victoria bowed her head submissively. She had initially thought that Hank Clegg had left her in the lurch but surprisingly, he had a bit of a conscience and helped her take leave.
It was just that his reason was a little... excruciating.
"No need for that." grumbled Joanna Bell, "I've already copied what I need from your computer. Now, take these contracts back to the media company."
More tedious legwork.
The mere thought made Victoria's back and waist ache.
Seeing her standing still, Joanna raised an eyebrow. "What? Can't handle this little distance? Do I need to get a courier for you?"
"I'll get it done right away." Victoria hurriedly grabbed the contracts.
The pile of contracts was substantial, colliding with her arm as she lifted it.
Victoria grimaced in pain.
"Hold on!" Joanna suddenly stopped her.
Victoria thought that maybe Joanna had noticed her discomfort and would help her.
