Hank Clegg was trembling all over, wracked with so much pain he could barely keep conscious, let alone speak.
When Selena Paul touched Hank and found out he was defenseless, she realized this was her chance to escape.
She fumbled for the key on his body and quickly unlocked her handcuffs.
She started screaming at the top of her lungs without pause, "Hank Clegg is here! Somebody come! Hank Clegg is here! I've got him! I've captured Hank Clegg!"
Hank heard how this woman, who had been begging for mercy just moments ago, could betray him so quickly. His hands tightened around the oar, nearly crushing it.
But if anyone was to come now, he would be completely defenseless.
Fortunately, he had chosen the most secluded spot on the entire Crocodile Lake to dock, and there was no one around to hear her cries.
Selena Paul yelled for a while and seeing no one showed up, she hurriedly tried to jump to the shore to escape.
