Mrs. Talkington did not ask for any explanation and was quick to place all the blame on Victoria, based on Penelope's "guess".
Mr. Talkington furrowed his brows, grinding his teeth, "We shouldn't speak so rashly. Do you not know the power the Clegg family holds? Perhaps Victoria is now seeking revenge on us."
"Revenge?" Mrs. Talkington and Penelope were shocked.
"Yes," Mr. Talkington nodded, "Have you not thought about how you treated her in the past? Now, she has powerful allies. Whether she acknowledges us is one thing, but I suspect she's planning to return our past deeds."
Upon hearing these words from Mr. Talkington, Mrs. Talkington and Penelope felt unsure.
They knew very well how they treated Victoria in the past.
But even so, there wasn't a hint of regret in Mrs. Talkington and Penelope's hearts.
