"Then I'm heading back, good night, Mr. Wright." Victoria bowed to Joseph Wright and hurriedly ran toward the corridor.
However, just as she left the living room, she saw Hank Clegg standing right in front of her.
"Ah, you gave me quite a scare!" Victoria clutched her chest, both frightened and delighted.
Joseph Wright also came over.
"Mr. Clegg," he nodded to Hank Clegg in greeting, "Good night to you both."
"Good night," Hank Clegg said indifferently.
Joseph Wright smiled at Victoria, "Thank you for your enlightening talk tonight, Madame. It helped this old man gain some perspective."
"Mr. Wright, you must be joking; you are not old at all," Victoria quickly replied.
Joseph Wright looked to be at most in his forties, not at all an old man.
Back in the bedchamber, Victoria recounted the content of her talk with Joseph Wright to Hank Clegg without omitting a single detail.
Hank Clegg listened silently before saying, "I know, I was outside listening the whole time."
