Nightfall
Victoria sat on the sofa in the room, fiddling with the set of jewelry that Joseph Wright had given her.
"Why have I never seen Mrs. Wright?" she suddenly asked Hank Clegg, "Does Mr. Wright have a wife?"
"No," Hank Clegg replied, busy with something at his desk.
"Not even an underground mistress or something?" Victoria asked again.
"I've never heard of one," replied Hank Clegg, still not looking up.
"That's strange," Victoria mused, resting her chin in her hands, "What would he be keeping all this beautiful jewelry for then?"
"Family heirlooms, worth a fortune, what do you think he's keeping them for?" Hank Clegg said.
"What a pity, there's no lady of the house to wear them…" Victoria murmured, and then, as if a thought struck her, "You don't think Mr. Wright could be… into men, do you?"
"Cough cough…" Hank Clegg choked unexpectedly, "What are you thinking? That's not possible."
