"So...you knew all along that I was family..."
For a moment, Victoria couldn't shake an indescribable feeling stirring within her heart.
"Then why did you treat me like that before?" Victoria finally blurted out after holding it in for so long.
"How did I treat you before?" Franklin Clegg asked in return, "Did I treat you badly before?"
"..." Victoria found herself at a loss for words.
"Alright, it's late, you should sleep," Franklin Clegg patted Victoria's head.
He was so much taller than her that patting her head seemed like an elder cautioning a younger one.
Watching him walk to the door, ready to close it, Victoria blurted out, "Can you let Hank Clegg know that I am safe and sound?"
"He has known you're safe and sound for a while now," Franklin Clegg closed the door and said, "Good night."
Victoria sat dumbfounded on her bed alone. So, Hank Clegg already knew she was safe and sound?
But he still didn't know her whereabouts, right?
