"Thank you." Merlin Edvin finally broke into a smile, "Can I wear this dress right away?"
The atmosphere around was a bit odd.
Not to mention the girls who despised Merlin, even the boys who had always liked her thought... Maybe Merlin had something wrong in her head?
Only Victoria remained amiable and approachable: "You can change into it in the next room. I'll help you."
"I bet she won't look as good as Hannah Clegg even if she puts it on." As soon as Victoria and Merlin walked away, one of the schoolgirls disdainfully stated.
"Hannah Clegg, be careful." Another classmate nudged Hannah and cautioned, "I think Merlin's behaviour is a bit suspicious, is she trying to usurp your place in the Clegg Family?"
"Exactly, it's your birthday, but she has to get involved. It's your dress, yet she wants to wear it. What if she tries to snatch your parents next, ousting you and taking over the house?"
