Hank Clegg was silent for a moment.
The room was filled with an inexpressible and awkward silence.
"Why?" After a long pause, he finally asked, "Does your mother know about this?"
"Mom doesn't know anything," saying this, Duo Duo's tears started to fall uncontrollably, "We've been keeping it from her. Mom had a hematoma in her brain, she would definitely fall ill from anxiety if she knew what we've been up to. Michael and I didn't dare tell her..."
"Who made you do it, Lucas Douglas?" Hank Clegg retorted.
Duo Duo looked up, her eyes filled with shining tears, "In fact, you knew all about it before, Dad. But, you forgot, Dad, when I was lying in bed, you said you didn't care, you didn't mind. You said as long as I was healthy, you could forgive everything!"
Her voice was raised, as if making an accusation, as if venting something.
Hank Clegg was silent.
Was that the case?
He already knew, in fact, they had confessed everything before.
