With Victoria's outburst, the entire courtroom fell silent.
Then, a sudden uproar ensued.
"Witness, the court has decided to adjourn for now." The judge addressed Victoria, "Whatever evidence you have, please present it when the court convenes next time."
It had been a long day, Gordon Family and Clegg Family had battled to a standstill in the court. If not adjourn now, then when?
Are they supposed to wait for the two families to clash again?
"No, your honor." Victoria gripped the edge of the witness stand, "You didn't finish saying 'to be continued at a later date', I presented my evidence before you did, you can't ignore it!"
The judge glared at Victoria Talkington, momentarily speechless.
"The judge has already hit the gavel. That essentially means court is adjourned." The Gordon Family's lawyer, not wanting Victoria to remain in court, hurriedly came to the judge's defence.
