Hank Clegg ignored Harry Gordon's misleading words.
He simply continued, "I've always wondered who would go to the lengths of impersonating Matilda Murphy to set such a trap. Harry, it didn't occur to me at first because you too appeared to be a victim in this plot. However, I gradually realized that you are not just a victim, but the greatest beneficiary behind all of this."
"When did I ever cover up anything," Harry Gordon challenged, clearly not accepting the accusation. "Mr. Clegg the younger, didn't I just resign? Haven't I relinquished all my responsibilities and rights? Don't fabricate stories without concrete evidence."
Hank Clegg couldn't help but sneer inwardly.
All his life, he's regarded evidence as of utmost importance, but now somebody was demanding him to provide it.
Unluckily, the evidence he held in this case was the most concrete of them all.
