Hank Clegg leaned back against his headboard, closing his eyes for a few seconds before finally opening them.
"Everything is falling into place now."
"What?" Victoria and the two babies asked in unison.
Hank Clegg swiftly got off the bed and picked up his notebook, "I need to step out for a bit."
"We're coming with you!" Victoria and the two babies exclaimed together.
"Stay at home." Hank Clegg ordered curtly.
"No!" No sooner than he had finished his sentence, both toddlers latched onto his legs, one on each.
"Daddy, we've contributed a lot to this case, too. You can't be selfish. Just when everything is about to be settled, you can't just send us away and take all the credit." One of them pouted angrily.
"Yes, Daddy, not only are you treating us unfairly, but you're even ignoring Mommy. Better watch out or she'll send you to sleep on the couch downstairs." The other chimed in.
Hank Clegg: "..."
Suddenly, having these two mischievous toddlers seemed like a headache.
