Victoria nodded: "Because the assistant, Li, was too busy, I went and ran the task."
Hank Clegg fell silent for a moment.
Then he took the watch and placed it on the dressing table.
"What I wear or have on me doesn't matter. But now that I'm in this position, there are some things I can't change. When I was in the criminal police team, my only interest was in the weapons and equipment." He looked at the watch with indifference, "If you like it, it's yours."
"I don't like it." Victoria hung her head low, "I don't know much about these things. Besides, it's a man's watch."
"If you feel you can't continue to do the work, you should stop." said Hank Clegg again, "I never expected you to cover our living expenses. Just play your role well, that's enough."
