The world often works this way, only once we've lost something, do we truly understand its value.
The same goes for relationships.
Several bodyguards were maintaining a safe distance behind Victoria, under strict instructions to protect her at all costs. They made sure no suspicious figures got close to her.
It was dusk and the flow of pedestrians and vehicles on 11th Avenue was not too heavy.
So, the bodyguards weren't overly vigilant.
However, to their great surprise, suddenly a bulky, mud-covered SUV swung towards them.
The vehicle skidded, its rear end almost knocking down the lot of them.
In moments of great peril, one's first instinct is self-preservation.
And that led the bodyguards to simultaneously leaping out of the way.
The SUV pivoted on the spot and within a second, it changed direction again.
Its massive rear end crashed into the display window of a bridal shop. The sound of shattering glass, blended with the roar of the SUV's engine, filled the air.
