"They are biological brothers; of course, they look alike. But what does a mere resemblance matter? The difference in their demeanor is vast," Phoebe Wood dismissively answered.
Penelope laughed, "The man that Anne fancies surely must be different. Weren't there rumors that you were going to marry him? How did that turn out?"
These remarks tossed a coat of jealousy onto Phoebe's eyes.
"This is a long story, but in short, that adopted sister in your family ruined everything," Claire Howard swiftly defended her sister, choosing to overlook what truly happened.
"By the way," she changed the subject, "Penelope, would you like to meet the second son of the Clegg family? I heard he's still single."
