Victoria's mom was about to burst with anger.
Yet Jose was still saying with a light and breezy tone, "It's not that important, I'm just bored, that's all."
Victoria's mom wanted to say something else.
Hank Clegg and Nigel Clegg, almost in unison…
"Victoria!"
"Mommy!"
Victoria was taken aback for a moment; it was rare for the father and son to speak in such unison.
Hank Clegg glanced at Nigel Clegg and gave an almost imperceptible nod.
Nigel Clegg then smiled faintly and sat in front of Jose.
"So you mean to say, Alvin Clegg, you're set on wresting the right of succession to the Throne from me, aren't you?" he asked Jose. "All the pain and effort from childhood until now were just for that moment of achievement, or should I say, satisfaction, right?"
Jose closed his eyes for a moment, which could be taken as an acknowledgment.
Nigel Clegg bowed his head, seemingly deep in thought for a while.
