After Victoria's mother finished speaking,
she carried an air of disdain towards everything under heaven, and with a wave of her hand, she signaled for all the guests to re-engage with the engagement ceremony.
The music then started up again.
Everything that had just occurred seemed to have been completely severed from another time and space.
"Mommy," Jose said, as if she couldn't believe what had happened, "there must be some mistake, how could Michael lose his inheritance rights."
The events had unfolded so quickly that she was having trouble understanding them.
Jose sat quietly by the side, head bowed, without uttering a word.
"I must let the engagement ceremony continue," Victoria's mother glanced at Jose, with a determined resolve in her eyes, "I can't let anyone ruin Michael's engagement. He loves Melody Foster; I can't let them be separated."
