The text messages on the phone abruptly appeared before Duo Duo's eyes.
["Baby, I miss you. What are you doing?"]
The phone indicated that she sent the message to Bella Shaw.
Duo Duo broke out in a cold sweat.
How is that possible!
It was bizarre enough that she was sending messages to Evelyn Cloudley, but even more bizarre was the tone she supposedly used.
She continued to read, and, within the texts, she and Evelyn Cloudley appeared to be a couple deeply in love!
Duo Duo was so frightened she nearly threw the phone away.
But she eventually placed the phone on the table.
"Mrs. Shaw, I did not send these texts," she said calmly to Mrs. Shaw. "There is not the kind of relationship between your daughter and me that you're thinking of."
Come on, she was a genuine girl!
And she didn't have that kind of preference.
