Dodo found it incredible that John Coleman, despite being a man, seemed to understand women even better than she did.
"I hope not," Dodo shrugged. "What could she do? Have someone beat me up? I'm not afraid."
"You don't need to be afraid," John Coleman patted Dodo on the shoulder. "If she dares to touch you, I'll make sure she dies a gruesome death."
Dodo didn't doubt John Coleman's words in the slightest.
He was very protective of her, and this guarding made her feel both touched and secure.
For some reason, she suddenly looked up and smiled at John Coleman, "Thank you, brother."
She had already come to regard him as a brotherly figure.
John Coleman was stunned for a moment.
Her smile was so beautiful that it could almost offset the heartache that came with being called "brother."
But he only paused for a moment before smiling slightly, "Thank me for what? You're already calling me brother."
