Pink tulle cascaded from the ceiling to the mattress, allowing the bright sunshine outside to filter through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Hannah Clegg tossed and turned in her bed, staring hopelessly at the ceiling where a crown-shaped canopy was adorned with crystals, brimming with the opulence of a young girl's room, but now looking like the top of a cage, imprisoning her within.
"I've had enough, I'm at my limit," she said to the person on the other end of the line, "Maybe the next time you come back, you won't see me anymore. I might have committed suicide, run away from home, or even joined some evil terrorist organization, and then you'd lose me forever."
"We'd lose you forever?" came a boy's magnetic voice over the phone, "Well, that would be just great."
Hannah Clegg flipped over abruptly, hugging a pumpkin-shaped pillow: "Talking to you is maddening! Your sister is on the verge of deep depression, can't you try to save me?"
