Adam Walker uncapped the bottle and poured himself a drink. "Seeing me would only bring her more pain."
"Women, they are all the same. You know about our Summer Gardner, when she gets angry, she would chase me around the courtyard with a kitchen knife in her hand..." Logan Bennett nodded towards him with his glass, "Women have sharp tongues but soft hearts. If you stand there and let her 'chop' you, she actually can't bear to do it. A woman has suffered so much for you over the years, it's only right for you to kneel by her bed for three days."
Adam Walker was silent for a moment, then suddenly grabbed the glass in front of him, downed it in one gulp, stood up, and walked toward the door.
Watching his figure disappear beyond the brightly lit door, Logan Bennett glanced at his watch and stood up from his chair as well.
He gestured to a nearby servant, signaling him to clear away the drinks, then walked out the door, hailed a taxi, and sent a text message to Ivana Bennett.
