The car stopped in front of the manor's castle gates, and Ivana Bennett took his hand as they got out of the car, ascended the stairs together, and then she escorted him into the study room.
"I won't force you to decide right now. Take your time to think it over, and no matter what decision you make, I will support you." She pulled him down to sit on the chair, held his face in her hands, and kissed him on the lips, "I'll go change my clothes and come back to keep you company in a little while."
She knew he needed time to think things through carefully, so she voluntarily gave him some quiet space.
Turning around, Ivana Bennett walked out of the study room and gently closed the door behind her.
Lucas Walker pulled open the drawer and took out two boxes from the safe.
Inside one of the boxes was his noble title and military decorations.
