"I apologize for not getting back in time,"
Ivana Bennett put down the plate in her hand, turned to look at Lucas Walker with an apologetic face, and shook her head, laughing.
"You underestimate me. Don't forget, even a certain count was no match for me. As for Princess Lillian... if you had come back a bit earlier, you could have seen the expression on her face when she lost to me. It was really spectacular... Too bad I'm not a man, or else today, I would have certainly stripped her naked for quite the view..."
Lucas Walker didn't speak, but just reached out his hand to take the plate from her and meticulously cut the canned food in her hand into small, easy-to-eat pieces with a knife.
"Take your time eating. I need to take Arthur to get used to the jungle in the dark. This time, I may be gone for a while."
Ivana Bennett took the canned food and nodded gently.
"Be careful."
