Late into the night.
Count Residence echoed with silence.
Ivana tossed in bed, her palm reaching over and only finding an empty space.
She half-opened her eyes and felt around her bed, only to find an empty pillow.
Yawning, she fully opened her eyes, and as expected, Lucas Walker was not there.
"Lucas Walker?" She softly called out his name once. Receiving no response, she raised her voice and called again, "Lucas Walker?!"
Still, no one responded.
Ivana eyed the cellphone by her bed for the time. It was already two o'clock in the morning.
She reached out to touch his side of the bed, it was completely cold, signaling that he had been out of bed for a while now.
Where on earth had that guy gone at this time of the night?!
Feeling uneasy, she got out of bed, switched on the lights, donned her sleepwear, and headed straight for Lucas's study.
Ivana gently knocked on the door, but nobody answered from within.
She pushed the door open to find a dimly lit empty room.
