"Looking back, those were truly happy times..." Ivana took a bite of the steak Lucas had served her. Her smile suddenly froze on her face, "I'm sorry... I got carried away reminiscing joyful times. You...you mustn't mind."
His childhood didn't possess such delight. Still, she kept talking about it in front of him. How could she be so insensitive?!
"You made it sound very interesting," Lucas said with a gentle smile, placing the empty plate on the table, "Are you full?"
"Yes." She nodded.
Lucas stood up, holding her, "I'll go prepare the bathwater for you to have a good soak."
"No need, I can do it myself!" Ivana quickly grabbed him, took his portion of the steak, and set it in front of him. "Here, eat quickly. It won't taste good once it cools."
With that, she raised her hand and petted his head, as if coaxing a child.
"Sweet Lucas, be good, eat up!"
Lucas raised an eyebrow slightly. She laughed and evaded him, running into the bedroom.
