The cooling sensation of mint from the gum spread out in his mouth, and Lucas Walker felt his burning throat instantly refreshed. His cough ceased immediately.
He reached out, grabbing her wrists in one swoop.
"Ivana! You obviously like me, so why can't you admit it?!"
If she really wanted to shoot him, she would have done it a long time ago.
She watched him cough and yet gave him gum, how could that be anything but caring for him and liking him?
Ivana Bennett, with raised eyebrows, countered, "Who said I was afraid to admit it?"
He was taken aback, then he smirked.
"So you do admit you like me?"
Ivana realized her slip of the tongue, but it was too late to deny it. She jerkily pulled her hand away from his.
"So what if I like you? Liking you doesn't mean I'll blindly obey you." She reached for the gun on the ground, "Lucas Walker, I'm warning you seriously, right now..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Lucas had already seized her gun and jerked it towards him.
