Ivana Bennett abruptly halted her steps, and Lucas Walker by her side stopped at the same time.
The two exchanged a glance before turning to gaze at the wall near the alley.
Lucas immediately crouched sideways, "Go up."
Without time for politeness, Ivana Bennett stepped back, put a foot on his shoulder, and nimbly climbed over the high wall.
Lucas backed off a few steps for momentum and then leaped in the air.
His leg injury hadn't yet healed and when it was strained, it inevitably affected his movements. One foot made it, but the other slipped down the wall.
Ivana instinctively went over to help him, but in her haste, she lost balance too. They both wobbled atop the wall for a moment before they tumbled down together into the inner wall.
Lucas instinctively pulled her into his arms, shielding her with his body. Simultaneously, he rolled forcefully so that he was now underneath.
