He tiptoed over, not disturbing Lucas Walker and Ivana Bennett, but simply turned his face towards the butler, "How is the Duchess... is she doing all right?"
"The doctor is still inside," the butler replied softly.
As they were speaking, the door to the Emergency Room was pushed open by the doctor.
Several people shifted their gaze at the same moment as the doctor lifted his hand to remove his mask.
"She has regained consciousness, but... fainting twice in one day is a very bad sign, I must warn you... you absolutely cannot let her become agitated again, otherwise..." the doctor frowned, looking disapprovingly at everyone, "I cannot guarantee that her body and heart can withstand it."
"Can we go in and see her?" Ivana asked.
The doctor nodded gently, "Not too many people, and don't upset her again."
"We understand," Ivana said, taking hold of Lucas Walker's arm as they walked into the ward.
Inside the ward, the Duchess lay on her pillow, pale-faced.
