It was Ivana Bennett's first dinner back home and also New Year's Day. The old butler had prepared the meal thoughtfully; it was very grand.
There were not only wine and candles on the table, but also a fresh bouquet of dew-kissed roses.
"These flowers are so fresh, were they picked from the greenhouse?" Ivana asked, although she already knew the answer.
"Yes, Miss.," the old butler replied cooperatively. "Roses are the most common flowers in the greenhouse."
Ivana turned her face to the lady across the table, "Do you like them?"
Before the lady could answer, Lucas Walker had already reached for the cutlery on the table, "Let's eat."
"Hold on, don't eat yet!" Ivana quickly intercepted, cradling the dinner wine in front of her. "It's New Year's Day. We should at least make a toast. Here... let's toast to good health, prosperity, may all your wishes come true... and most importantly, family harmony for the upcoming year."
