Summer Gardner ignored her, so Ivana Bennett pulled her chair next to Summer.
"Mom...how do you make dumplings? Can you teach me?"
"You're such a glutton, all you know is eating?" Summer shot her a glare. "Just stuff the filling inside, wrap it up with the skin, and you're done, right?"
Although Ivana was not good at making dumplings, she knew how to do it. She just purposefully wanted to strike up a conversation with Summer.
She purposely made a big one, looking like a basketball, and threw it in front of Summer.
"Mom, is this okay?"
Summer glanced at the basketball-sized dumpling in her hand and bit her lip without speaking.
Ivana took another skin, wrapped it into a curved shape this time, then broke off some dough to pinch it into a tail.
"Mom, is this okay?"
Summer looked around and saw the dumpling with a tail in her hand. She almost couldn't hold back her laughter.
She quickly coughed and turned her face away.
