He dried her long hair, dressed her in a small outfit, and covered her with a blanket, noticing the ring hanging around her neck. Lucas Walker extended his fingers, holding onto the ring.
Against the twilight afterglow, the golden diamond reflected a rainbow of light.
Lucas Walker slightly squinted his eyes, kissed the ring and placed it back on her chest.
"One day, I'll personally remove it and put it on your finger."
Tucking the corner of her blanket, Lucas Walker rose and stepped out of the room, heading downstairs.
"Have you found out?"
"Yes, Count." The old butler stepped forward. "We've found out that the dress Miss wore to the academy was stained by a girl named Alice, which is why Miss had to put on the outfit specially tailored for you."
Lucas Walker raised an eyebrow slightly, "Alice?"
