"No need, I'm not hurt." Ivana Bennett raised her arm, "Isn't this obvious just by looking?"
"I'm sorry, Miss Bennett, this is...the Earl's idea." Lawyer Chen said, frowning in a mannerly tone, "If he finds out that we didn't check on you, he won't be happy."
Without wanting to put them in a difficult position, Ivana shrugged, "Then...can I finish my dinner before the examination?"
She was really hungry.
"Of course," said Lawyer Chen with a sigh of relief, "You can take your time eating, no need to rush."
Walking to the table and seeing the feast, Ivana could only shake her head.
How could she eat all this by herself?!
"This is too much, how can I finish all of it?"
A panicked maid hurried over, pallid and said, "My apologies, Miss Bennett. We didn't know your taste preferences, so we made several different dishes. We absolutely didn't mean to mock you..."
