On the other end of the phone, the man known as "the frustrating spirit," Earl Lucas Walker, wasn't upset. Instead, his sexy thin lips curled upward.
Every time he heard her voice, his mood would inexplicably become happier.
"How was your day?"
"Of course it was good. I just got back from a great meal." Ivana Bennett climbed onto her bed, found a comfortable position, grabbed a pillow and held it close. "I have good news and bad news, which do you want to hear first?"
"The bad news."
"Alright then." Ivana flashed a faint smirk. "The bad news is that my eagle-eyed father... has figured out about us."
Lucas Walker seemed surprised. "Is he trying to stop us?"
Ivana silently smiled then deliberately responded with a low voice. "Yes. My father said that people like you usually can't freely choose who to marry or date. It would be incredibly difficult for us to be together. He suggested that if I could decide to let you go, it would be best to do it now."
