"Ha... I never imagined, you were that guy!" She took a breath, stifled her laughter, and asked inquisitively, "But that's wrong. I was wearing a dust mask that day. You couldn't have seen my face?!"
Back then, she had parked her motorcycle in the middle of the road, took off her helmet, and gave him a thumbs-down, to show her disdain for him.
The mountain road had no street lights and it was night. Lucas Walker was in his car with the headlights on; she couldn't see his face at all. It wasn't surprising that she didn't recognize him.
However, she was wearing a special dust prevention mask. How could he have recognized her?
Lucas Walker lifted his finger, pointing to his left ear.
"I remember... your earring!"
Even now, he remembered the scene vividly. She took off her helmet and the wind whipped her long black hair as she tucked it behind her ear.
