"Babe, looking for me?"
The voice was low and magnetic, with a hint of ease.
Recently, Perry Reed had become increasingly slick in his speech. Flossie Wright's brow moved slightly, but she wasn't in the mood to correct him and responded directly, "Yeah."
"What's up?"
Knowing Flossie's character of not bothering others without a good reason, Perry went straight to the point.
"Nothing."
Flossie answered nonchalantly.
There was a brief pause on the other end before a teasing voice asked in a low tone, "You calling to flirt?"
"Get lost."
With a slight twitch of her lips, Flossie replied unreservedly.
"Then I'll hang up." Perry continued along the same vein.
"..."
Glancing up at the white walls, Flossie took a deep breath to suppress her irritation.
After a moment of silence, Flossie tilted her head slightly and listened carefully before asking, "Are you busy?"
"If you're calling, I'm not busy." Perry responded smoothly.
