A military Jeep entered through the gate, speeding as if flying past, with the few who felt its passing engulfed in a gust of cold wind like the depth of winter.

The Jeep stopped in front of the cafeteria.
Sitting in the back seat, Flossie Wright touched her nose, braving the icy glare from Bard as she opened the door and got out of the car.
She paused to think.
"Reporting!"
With a proper salute and a confident shout, Flossie stood straight and looked directly at Bard sitting inside the car.
