Speaking, Willie Ash paused briefly, observing Flossie Wright's expression before adding, "If I remember correctly, the casualties in the residential area were minimal, and many people were rescued later on."
"Oh."
Watching him, Flossie Wright nodded slightly.
"Umm, there's also..." Rubbing the back of his neck, Willie Ash seemed nervous, tentatively saying, "Let me ask you, do you have any relatives or friends here? If you want to look for someone, we can help you."
Looking up, with an indifferent expression, Flossie Wright spoke coolly, "A friend's hometown, I came to see it."
"What about your friend?" Unable to restrain his curiosity, Willie Ash asked.
"Dead."
Just two simple words.
Having said that, Flossie Wright turned and went back the way she had come.
"Hey—" Caught off guard by her sudden turn, Willie Ash turned to watch her, calling out loudly, "Did you see your friend's house?"
Ahead, her figure paused briefly.
For a moment.
"I saw it."
