Flossie was his daughter, his problem. But...

The boss seemed to be in his fifties, with hair almost completely white, and wrinkles creasing at the corners of his eyes; a face of loyal honesty and full of remorse and helplessness.
His actual age might actually be younger though.
"Thank you, thank you," the boss immediately shed grateful tears upon Flossie's magnanimity, "Whatever you want to eat, it's free."
"No need."
Flossie stood up.
Then, she looked at Perry.
It was time for them to leave.
Perry wouldn't let go of this easily.
Accepting the boss's gratitude now...
Was meaningless.
Despite the boss's pleas to stay, Flossie pulled out a piece of paper, wiped the marks on her boots, and walked straight out of the restaurant.
Perry closely followed her out.
