Always sullen as if he had constipation, Neal Thompson at this moment only had a panicked look on his face. He was like a deer startled in the forest; he took a few hurried steps forward but stumbled midway over a stone and fell. Ignoring the pain from his fall, he crawled up from the ground and continued yelling into the surrounding thickets, his voice bellowed as if he was using every ounce of his strength.

Thus, he swallowed nervously and alertly shouted up the hill, "Are you up there?"
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the thick forest atop the hill that he was staring at seemed to have a somewhat larger movement. However, after igniting his hope, there was no sign of a figure appearing.
