Suppressing the doubts stirring in his heart, Austin Shepherd maintained a formal tone, "So, based on your understanding of Flossie Wright, Captain Hutchinson, any attempt to persuade her would be futile, correct?"
"Yes."
"However, based on my observations, she is not one to change her decisions easily. Forcing her into this could result in the opposite of what we intend."
Gathering his thoughts, Austin spoke seriously. His normally sharp features, under the illumination of the lamp, appeared surprisingly gentle.
He was still young, unable to keep quiet in front of his superiors, nor swallow words he wished to speak. Moreover, even though he hadn't spent a great deal of time with Glenn Hutchinson, he believed that Glenn was not a stubborn man, and would certainly listen to his thoughts.
