Gently placing her spoon down, Jocelyn Carrington's face showed a hint of resentment. Lowering her head slightly, she spoke in a low voice, "I admit defeat."
Without a doubt, she suspected that Flossie Wright had swapped their bowls of soup after tasting the first spoonful. However, Flossie had only touched her soup bowl once, all under her watchful gaze, making it impossible for anything to have happened. Therefore, even though she had strong suspicions about Flossie, she herself could not find a reason to place the blame on her.
"Do you remember the promise you made to me?" the head of the cooking class asked, turning her gaze to Jocelyn Carrington.
Biting her teeth, Jocelyn stood straight and replied, "Fifty laps!"
The real reason she was able to convince the head of the cooking class to let her compete with Flossie wasn't only because of the noble reasons she gave. More importantly, she made a promise that if she lost, she would willingly run fifty laps as a punishment.
